Scarborough Open Air Theatre

Scarborough Open Air Theatre is an open air theatre in Northstead Manor Gardens, Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England. It was built in 1932. In 2008 planning permission was received for a major renovation. The £3.5 million scheme to transform Scarborough's Open Air Theatre was completed in May 2010. Apollo Resorts and Leisure have been selected by Scarborough Borough Council to operate the Open Air Theatre. Plans to build a permanent backstage area at Scarborough's Open Air Theatre have received unanimous backing by councillors. Once the theatre is open "the venue will stage a mixed entertainment
programme including music concerts, opera productions and community events". The capacity of the theatre is 6,500.

The theatre was officially opened by The Queen accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh
