The beginning of the collaboration between Steven McMorran and Mitch Allan

 started in early 2009, when songwriter/producer Allan invited the Age of Information bassist to take part in his Los Angeles "songwriter night", and the two hit it off and started working on some songs together, along with The Age of Information guitarist Josh Dunahoo.

The collaboration project was official announced in June 2010, under the name of Satellite, with band members including McMorran, Allan, Dunahoo and drummer Justin Glasco, former keyboardist for Jeremy Camp
