Santiago studied communication design in the Metropolitan University in Mexico followed by a MFA in Pratt Institute in Brooklyn NY. His art appears constantly in dignified newspapers, magazines, books and TV. Santiago has illustrated books for: Marshall Cavendish, GP Putnam, Viking, Zanner-Bloser, Houghton Mifflin, Warner, Golden Books, Chronicle and Blue Apple. He designed Christmas cards for MoMA

He also teaches animation to public school children.
