Santiago Canyon College is a two-year community college
located at the eastern border of Orange
, California
at Chapman and Jamboree. It opened in 1985 as the Orange Campus branch to nearby Santa Ana College
. In July 1997 the name of the Orange Campus was changed to Santiago Canyon College. Santiago Canyon College was fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges
in 2000. Although Santiago Canyon College and Santa Ana College are now separate colleges, both are part of the Rancho Santiago Community College District
. Highlights at Santiago Canyon College include the award winning Forensics program, nationally recognized Model United Nations Program, and championship Women's Soccer program.
The area surrounding the campus is made up of Orange Park Acres, Santiago Hills, Irvine Regional Park, and Tustin Ranch. The Admissions building, also known as the "E" building, is the main information center and houses professor offices, various classrooms, and the Language Laboratory. Next to the E building is the D building. The D building houses art and humanities classes including a dance studio and a theater room for film students/club movie nights. The D building also houses the Transfer and Counseling Centers which are open to all students for Academic planning, Career Guidance, as well as Workshops for transfer school applications/essays and programs to assist students with an undecided major.
The A & B buildings are in the center of campus. In the A building lower level, you will find the science laboratories, and on the top level more classrooms used for various subjects. In the B building lower level you will find the Hawks Bookstore which faces the A/B Quad, as well as other various classrooms. On the upper level of the B building you can find the Scholarship Center, Student Government, and various other classrooms.
As you make your way past the B building and head up towards the back of campus you will find the Health Center, the Hawk Cafe cafeteria, and the Portable classrooms. The Portables house various subjects as well as the Math Study Hall, where you can receive tutoring for any level of math.
Santiago Canyon College has a total undergraduate population of 13,613. 36% of the student population is part time. 51% of the student body is male and 49% is female.

Campus
The library building earned a merit award from the American Institute of Architects' Committee on Architecture for Education. The library, which opened in 2006, is 40000 square feet (3,716.1 m²) and holds 100,000 books. It was designed by LPA Architecture.
