, was a television character on the 1960s sitcom The Dick Van Dyke Show
. She was one third of the comedy writing team for the fictional TV variety show The Alan Brady Show, working with Rob Petrie and Buddy Sorrell. When not working, Sally spent much of her time searching for a husband. Though she maintained an on-and-off relationship with nerdy Herman Glimscher (in a 2004 Dick Van Dyke Show reunion special, it was revealed that Sally and Herman eventually married), she occasionally dated other men, particularly if they looked like "husband material".
She shared an apartment with her cat, Mr. Henderson. A talented singer, Sally was occasionally called upon to entertain at dinner parties. She would also recount various philosophical statements once made by her beloved Aunt Agnes, the vast majority of which made no sense whatsoever.
