Sabata Jonguhlanga Dalindyebo, (1928–1986) was the ruler (Inkosi Enkhulu) of the Thembu
people of South Africa
. He reigned from June 30, 1954 to 1980, when he was deposed by the government of Kaiser Matanzima
on trumped-up charges, causing him to flee to exile in Lusaka

to join the African National Congress
(ANC), where he died.
He was buried in a very undignified manner not fit for a king by the Matanzima regime, with people screened by the regime's security branch and no political speeches allowed. It was only in 1989 that the he was reburied in a dignified manner and people from all walks of life bade farewell to their beloved king. Among the dignitaries on that day were Bishop Stanley Mogoba and the late Peter Mokaba
