History

SGEduLab BETA Phase I was officially launched on April 1, 2006. SGEduLab's mission was to provide free study notes to all Singaporean students, as well as connecting students with teachers through SGEduLab's forum. The resources in SGEduLab were mainly contributed by contributors. The website was still in the developmental stage, and did not have sufficient study notes to provide to students. Some study notes were contributed by administrators.

BETA Phase II

The main objective of SGEduLab BETA Phase II was to make the website more user-friendly by changing the layout of the website (users complained that SGEduLab's Course Management System, Moodle

 was not user-friendly). It was originally scheduled to be released on December 2006, but due to certain factors, it was re-scheduled to 2007. BETA Phase II also saw the introduction of a new system that required users to use Labby Points, SGEduLab's currency

  • Contributing own study notes in soft or hard copy;
  • Rectification of existing study notes in SGEduLab's database;
  • Posting in SGEduLab's forum;
  • Awarding Labby Points weekly (users must however sign in to collect their Labby Points).

EduTimes

SGEduLab officially launched EduTimes on 15 July 2007. EduTimes was an online e-magazine that features a veritable potpourri of articles, reviews, competitions, and more.

Due to study commitments and poor response, the website of EduTimes was taken down temporarily.

Current situation

Due to personal reasons and lack of commitment, Tan Yong Kian has decided to cease operations as of 2010.
