The park is owned and operated by brothers William and Henry Gehlhaus. The water park includes a 10000 sq ft (929 m²) Children's Area (complete with a large tipping bucket), a large lazy river

The waterpark is located across the street from Keansburg Amusement Park, also owned by the Gehlhaus brothers. The amusement park first opened in 1904. Ellis trained lifeguards receive certification prior to every season and monitor all water areas throughout the park.

On July 28, 1997, eight-year-old Raphael Garcia drowned at the park. Authorities believed the boy did not know how to swim. Following his death, the park underwent major renovations to the pool in question.
