Ruben Varona

Ruben Varona is a Colombian poet and writer specialized in thrillers and detective narrative.
He was named representative for Latin America for the International Association of Crime Writers IACW (2008).[1] He has been chosen for several collections and anthologies of short stories: At the Edge of Words (Al Filo de las Palabras. Editorial Universidad del Cauca 2001), Road signs (Señales de ruta, Arango Editores, 2008), The Dispensable (EL fungible, Punto de Lectura 2008) and Zürich, Ausfahrt Mord Krimi-Anthologie (2011), a global anthology of crime short stories translated into German, made by Paul Ott.
He published the novel Wait for me naked among scorpions (Espérame desnuda entre los alacranes, whose title is inspired by a verse of the poet Giovanni Quessep, itself inspired by the story of Remdios, La Bella, a character of the novel One hundred years of solitude by Gabriel García Márquez
). He founded the cultural magazine La Mandragora in Popayán

Recently, a posthumous novel was published under the title Six versions of Ernesto Varona by Johann Rodriguez-Bravo . (Pluma de Mompox, 2011), with a character inspired on the author.
