Roy Miller High School is the oldest high school in Corpus Christi

). It was created in 1894, and is part of the Corpus Christi Independent School District
. Originally known as Corpus Christi High the school was renamed in 1950 in honor of Henry Pomeroy Miller, the former mayor Of Corpus Christi.
Their mascot is the Battlin' Buccaneers. This is the only Corpus Christi high school to have 2 state football championships (1938 and 1960; the latter being one of the first truly integrated squads in Texas).
Miller is a center for science and technology. The recently improved science and computer labs add to Miller's academic experience. In conjunction with Del Mar College, Miller offers a series of Dual-Credit academies which include: Cosmetology, Fire Science, Court Reporting, and Heating and Ventilation (HVAC).
In the school year of 2008-2009, Miller's Varsity Basketball team won the 4A District Championship. After an appeal to the University of Interscholastic League, Miller currently competes is the 3A division due to the regulations of student population.
