. Signed in 1993, he is a red bear with a baseball for a nose, dressed in a number 00 Indians jersey. Rowdie appears at all the Indians 72 home games and makes approximately 100 local appearances including school and charitable events, birthday parties and corporate functions.

Legend has it, as Rowdie settled down for a winter’s rest, he was abruptly awoken by a sharp thud on the nose. After seeing his reflection in the nearby river, he noticed a baseball lodged in his nose. He set out to find someone to remove the ball and he came across Bush Stadium

, the old Indians stadium on West 16th Street. After players attempted to pull the ball loose from his face with no success, the Indianapolis Indians invited the red bear to join the club as their mascot. Since 1993, Rowdie has been entertaining Indians fans and also made the move with the team from Bush Stadium to the Indians new home, Victory Field
