Academics

It runs a full curriculum, including all standard subjects as well as vocational subjects for Sixth Form students. The current headmaster is Mr Alan Henshall. He was preceded by Nicholas Daymond who was the last headmaster.

Alan Henshall is assisted by a senior leadership team, including Deputy Headteachers Linda Graham and Glen Pettengell, the latter formerly of St. George's School.

Facilities

The construction of a new modern 'Maths and Music' block was finished in October 2008. The main school reception has moved to where the music department was, with the old reception transformed into a new 'pastoral area'.

The school has recently opened the multi million pound, 70,000 capacity Sports Centre, officially opened on 7th September 2011 by Michael Atherton MBE.
