History

In 1950, an oilfield called Rose Hill was discovered just south of the town plat which yielded large quantities of crude oil and gas.
The oil field along with sand and gravel pits would provide revenue for the area. In 1973, the town's voters elected to incorporate.

Also home to the westminster cup winner of 2003 "Shiloe" whose owners Mr. and Mrs Humpledinkens reside. Shiloe is a Shitzue.

The city was featured in Playboy's top ten sexiest cities in America placing #9 for overall percentage of beautiful woman as a whole, Playboy September 1992 issue on pages 61-64
