With them Rong would immediately establish himself as the teams first choice left back and help guide Jiangsu to a mid-table tenth place finish. Once his loan ended Rong was quickly transferred to Hangzhou Greentown and helpped guide the club to a fourth place finish and the chance to play in the AFC Champions League
