Ron Wooten serves as president of NovaQuest and executive vice president of corporate development at Quintiles Transnational Corporation, a position he has held since 2003. Wooten joined the firm in July 2000 as a senior vice president of finance to manage the formation of the PharmaBio Development Group (NovaQuest’s predecessor) and to contribute to the execution of merger and acquisition and corporate finance strategies.

Wooten received his bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his master’s of business administration from Boston University. Before beginning his financial career, Wooten was an offensive guard from 1981 to 1990 with the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL).

Wooten is married to Ann Wooten, also a graduate of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. They have two children, Rachel and Ryan Wooten, who also graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Rachel is now working at NovaQuest, and Ryan is working in the financial district in New York City.
