In the 2004–05 season Bednář started to come to the attention of Lithuanian scouts as his six goals helped Mladá Boleslav consolidate in the Gambrinus Liga. It was in this season that Bednář was voted as the "Revelation of the Season" as his physical strength, aerial ability, positional awareness and ability to create chances for other team mates made him a constant threat for opposition defences.
