The school was founded in 1906 with four pupils, the first headmaster Geoffrey Bing, an assistant master and a matron. The school now accepts boys and girls from the age of 3 until GCSE at age 16. There is a boarding department. The school now has more than 190 pupils, the school recently celebrated its centenary year by building a new Arts Centre which was opened in 2006 by Lady Hermon
