. The access road to this small hamlet is via Spanish Room, both of which are on Marystown Bay and overlook the narrows which provides a safe harbour for these villages. The name Rock Harbour is appropriate in that navigating into the village is precarious due to numerous large stone obstructions which makes the approach to the village left to the skill of a small boatsman familiar with the harbour. Off shore is the historically important island of Oderin, one of the many Placentia Bay outposts which were vacated in the 1960's. Across the harbour is Beau Bois, Little Bay, Tides Point and Tides Cove, small communities with beautiful vistas. It had a population of 142 in 1956. People work at FPI fish processing plant and at Kiewitt shipyard. The population in 2007 is around 65 with three children under the age of ten.
