Robert Hurley (swimmer)

Robert Hurley is an Australian swimmer and former world record holder in the short-course (25m) 50 metres backstroke. In 2009 he won a bronze medal as a team member on the 4x200m freestyle relay at the FINA World Championships in Rome.

Hurley is a middle and distance freestyle specialist.

2008 World Championships (SC)

Hurley competed at the 2008 World Short Course Championships in Manchester, England. He swam in six events and picked up a gold medal in the 4x200m freestyle relay as a heat swimmer.

2009 World Championships

Hurley picked up a bronze medal in the 4x200m freestyle relay behind the USA and Russian Federation, he swam the second leg. Other events contested included 400m freestyle (11th), 800m freestyle (10th), 1500m freestyle (14th) and 100m backstroke (32nd).
