Rob Arnold was formerly in the band Sanctum, and he later joined Chimaira and became their lead guitarist.
Arnold is endorsed by ESP Guitars
and has his own signature model with a M body shape which are based on the ESP LTD m-1000. They are called the RA-2 and RA-3 and are tuned to drop-C (CGCFAD). He also has a 7-string ESP Horizon Custom, tuned to drop-A (AEADGBE) . Arnold uses a Peavey
6505+ amp head paired with a Mesa Boogie Cabinet. He uses Custom In-Tune Guitar Picks, Dean Markley Blue Steel guitar strings, guitarcable.com cables, a Digitech GSP1101 Processor, an ISP Decimator pedal, a Boss tuner pedal, a Furman power conditioner, a Peavey wireless system, and EMG 81 guitar pickups.
He recently released a Signature Series guitar with ESP Guitars based on his custom models. It is called the ESP LTD RA-600. He also has a new instructional DVD coming out through Rock House which focuses on metal guitar soloing, riffing, and writing.
Arnold married his longtime girlfriend in May 2007 in Las Vegas.
Rob is also the lead guitarist for his side-project, The Elite, with Bleed the Sky
drummer Austin D'Amond. They released an EP titled "Ww3" in July 2009.
On February 27, 2011, it was announced that Rob along with former Chimaira drummer, Kevin Talley, would be joining the band Six Feet Under.
