. The first two years of Riverdale began at the present day site of Dunbar High School. Riverdale was located in this area for approximately two years while the present-day site was still in construction Jack Hogg was the principal for the first two years. In the 1972-1973 school year the school moved to its present-day location and the principal became Mr. "Mike" Prymas. The current principal is Gerald Demming.

Marching band

Their 2008 Marching Band season was the first ever time that any Riverdale Marching Band had made it to a State competition. They finished 20th out 20, and are now ranked 20th out of 20 best bands in class A.
