. Riverbend started building around 1968 until the mid 1970's. It was a working class neighborhood. Children played in the local creek and woods along with playing basketball, baseball and softball at Riverbend park where the winning team would ride around the neighborhood honking their horns celebrating their win. There were two summer pools nearby, the Moose Lodge and Wee Bonnie(now gone). A nine hole golf course, also called Wee Bonnie, was next door to the pool and is also gone. The majority of students who live there attend Franklin Heights High school. Riverbend has been in decline due to the aging homes where now many are rented out, losing the sense of community.
