In 2009 Ridgewood celebrated their 50th anniversary with the homecoming theme of "Chicago: My Kind of Town". Also in 2009, RHS built new softball fields as well as begun construction on the field house, football field and track. In 2010, Ridgewood will start construction on a new band room that is to be ready for the new school year.
