Acting career

Rodriguez had not considered becoming an actor until around 2006, when his sister began acting. Previously he hadn't concentrated on any one career ambition. "I thought I'd be a Nascar chef going to the moon", he said regarding this in an interview in 2010.

Personal life

Rodriguez was born in College Station, Texas, the son of Diane and Roy Rodriguez, who own a business. Similar to his character in Modern Family, he is an uncle to five nieces. Rodriguez was nominated for the Screen Actor's Guild Award for Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series along with the rest of the show's cast.
