Richard Lavoie, M.A., M.Ed. is an educator, motivational speaker, and author, and an acclaimed advocate for children with learning disabilities and special needs. Since 1972 Lavoie has served as an administrator of residential programs for children with special needs. Lavoie credits the residential programs for giving him a living laboratory in which he could develop and refine his methods and theories related to the education of adolescents with special needs.
