The ribbon, which is distributed within the campaign - is a small strip of cloth in two colors: olive and green. Olive green ribbon symbolizes the victory, and green - the color of life. They also repeat the color blocks medals "In Defense of Leningrad" - the main award blockade.

The idea to hold the action arose due to the success of the country and in St. Petersburg, shares of St. George's Ribbon.

During the rally organizers distributed in St. Petersburg one million copies of "Victory Ribbon Leningrad. Those wishing to take part in the rally could get free ribbons 26 and 27 January in the offices of the Savings Bank, in post offices, and on twelve central stations Underground.

Ribbons were awarded to all participants following citywide celebrations:
  • 26 January, 17.30 - urban student holiday "Tatyana's Day" (JCC "Petersburg");
  • January 26 - the final concert of the 5 th International competition of patriotic song "Hail, Motherland" (BKZ "October");
  • January 27 - a concert dedicated to the 65 th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege during World War II (Ice Palace).

Interesting Facts

  • Each ribbon cost the budget of St. Petersburg in 3.5 ruble, thus all of their production has been spent 3.5 million rubles
