On July 31, 2009, she won the interim WBA Female minimumweight title against Ana Fernández and was put "in recess" on August 20, 2009 due to an eye injury. A rematch was ordered due to the controversial decision as soon as Ria will be medically cleared.

She is 5 feet 2 inches tall and 110–105 lbs, and is also active in Muay Thai
