Return to The Seventh Galaxy (1996) is an anthology of the 1972 to 1975 years of the various bands assembled by Chick Corea
that played under the name "Return to Forever
." The album is a compilation of different recordings from different years including the famous Light as a Feather
acoustic album (that has Stanley Clarke
on upright bass and Flora Purim
on vocals - see Light as a Feather
for more specifics on this album), a compilation of some live recordings (including a very funky 14 minute version of Spain), and some other recordings. This album arguably covers one of Corea's most well known and best eras when playing jazz fusion and the live recordings particularly represent this.
