The new name will identify the hospital as part of the Brookside neighborhood and Research Medical Center. In January 2006, HCA Midwest said that Baptist-Lutheran, a 354-bed hospital would continue to offer emergency care and other outpatient services, but, the inpatient care would be transferred to Research Medical Center.
