of Shreveport. It is a nonprofit festival, and any money garnered from commerce that takes place there goes back into the financial pool for the next year's Revel, guaranteeing a bigger and better Revel every year.

In several of the years of the festival, mosaics have been produced on the festival grounds which lasted after it was over. An artist creates a design that includes the Revel logo, and attendees work to put colored tile pieces in place to match the design. While some of the mosaics of past years have been removed or blocked from sight due to subsequent construction, others remain visible, including on the base of the Texas Street Bridge.

Art

The Revel host many artists booths each year with items ranging from paintings, to jewelry, to home decor, to just about anything you can think of. The Revel also has a unique and extensive Kid's Area where children can make crafts, learn, and just have fun.

Children

"A primary goal of the Red River Revel Arts Festival is arts education for children. Activities for children abound at The Revel. In fact, there is an entire area exclusively for children’s activities, complete with its very own performance stage and food booths! One of the children’s favorites is a mock geological dig site, which allows children to make exciting anthropologic discoveries, without ever leaving The Revel site. Another exciting favorite is the Brookshire's Mini Grocery Store, where children shop with kid-sized carts and "purchase" a variety of items that can be found in our local Brookshire grocery stores—they have a blast playing "parent" and shopping for their family just like mom and dad do!" http://www.redriverrevel.com/children/index.cfm

Food

"One of the greatest things about the Revel is the wonderful food. Many patrons count down to the festival in anticipation of eating their Revel favorites. From the Muffaletta Pizza and Turkey Legs to the Italian Ice and Funnel Cakes, there are many Revel foods you can't do without! Here’s what was on the menu at Revel 34." http://www.redriverrevel.com/food/index.cfm
