History

Reckless Love started their career in Spring of 2001 playing covers as Reckless Life, a homage to the Guns N' Roses

 song of the same name. This lineup included current members Olli Herman, Pepe (Salohalme), Jalle Verne (Pääkkönen) (all of whom had a classical background, having played in a brass orchestra in Kuopio), and drummer Zam Ryder. After some time together they started to perform original songs. In 2004, with new drummer Mike Harley, Reckless Love won the Kuopio Band Competition, a local contest, and released their first promo-single "So Yeah!!" by the end of the year.

As part of the Kuopio Popcity Project 2005, Reckless Love, along with Rainbow Crash, Svat and Sideshow Zombies, they toured Scandinavia, visiting Sweden

In 2007, Olli Herman (also known as H. Olliver Twisted) became lead singer for the Swedish hair metal band Crashdïet

 after the band's singer (Dave Lepard) committed suicide in January 2006. However, on July 13, 2008, the official Crashdïet website stated that Olliver Twisted could not deal with two full time vocalist positions any more. Herman chose to focus on Reckless Love, the band he had founded.

In January 2009, drummer Mike Harley left the band. Hessu Maxx (who used to play in a band with Jarkko Ahola of Teräsbetoni

 fame ) replaced him a week later. This unexpected lineup change proved positive, seemingly inspiring the band's creativity and helping to define their musical direction.

The band finally signed a deal with Universal Music on April 23, 2009. This led to the release of their first major label single "One More Time" on June 8, 2009. The single entered Finland's YleX Most Wanted charts at #9 and peaked at #2.

Reckless Love's second single, "Beautiful Bomb," was released October 15, 2009. The single's music video debuted November 4, marking the band's first professionally produced music video. The single attracted attention of the classic rock magazine and entered YleX charts at #4.

The band's third single, "Romance", was released on February 20, 2010 (#5 in YleX charts as of May 2010 ). Three days later Reckless Love performed at the Latvian Music Awards in Riga. The band was also heavily promoted in local press, radio and television, including a guest appearance in a popular reality show.,

On February 24, 2010, Reckless Love released their debut self-titled album, which entered the Finnish charts at #13. Soon the band appeared on the cover of Suosikki, a popular teen magazine. The album was also released in the Baltic States, Belgium, and the UK.

The Japanese version of "Reckless Love," featuring bonus tracks and different artwork, was released July 7, 2010. In November 2010 they re-released their album "Cool Edition", with a new set of artwork and bonus tracks (previously only available on singles and the Japanese edition) added.

The band is currently writing songs for a follow-up album "Animal Attraction", scheduled to be released in late September. The first single "Hot" was released on 18/4/11.

Pepe wrote on Twitter that other song titles are,"Born To Break Your Heart", and "Radio", along with "Young 'N Crazy". Pepe posted a part to "Young 'N Crazy" on YouTube.

Animal Attraction was released as a single on September 12th, 2011. It was also confirmed that Animal Attraction (album) will be released on October 5th. The album is currently available for pre-order on many different websites.

Reckless Love will embark on a UK and Ireland Tour with 7 dates, 6 of which are headline acts. Reckless Love will play the following dates:

November 2011: 26th – Islington, O2 Academy, London. 27th – Rock City, Nottingham. 28th – Academy 3, Manchester. 30th – Cathouse, Glasgow.
December 2011 1st – Limelight, Belfast. 2nd – Whelans, Dublin. 3rd – Hard Rock Hell Festival, Prestatyn, Wales.

Animal Attraction was released on October 5th.

The Animal Attraction Tour kicked off on October 7th, 2011

As revealed to Hit The Scene yesterday, the band's next video will be "On The Radio", and will be filmed in LA.
