Raymond Blain was a Québécois
politician. In 1986, he was the first openly gay candidate to be elected to public office in Canada. He represented the Saint-Jacques district at Montreal City Hall, succeeding Sammy Forcillo
. He died of AIDS-related complications in 1992, at age 41.
