Ralph was a talented football player, standing 6 ft 7in tall and weighing over 200 lbs in high school, he was formidable on the line. After graduation he attended LSU and was redshirted his freshman year. During that time he married his high school sweetheart, Frenchette Guient, and together they had a son, Ralph E. Norwood, Jr. Although the marriage did not last, Ralph and Frenchette still carried a love for each other. Ralph became a standout during his college years until he injured his knee. After surgery Ralph regain his ability to complete his dream of becoming a professional football player through hard work, dedication and therapy. He was drafted in the second round to the Atlanta Falcons. During his rookie year Ralph lost his life on a lonely road after sharing Thanksgiving dinner at a coach's house. Ralph is survived by his sons Ralph Jr and Jerrell, and a daughter Ashley, all living in Texas.
