Dr R Kesavan Nair was the Professor of Surgery at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College and first Superintendent of the Medical College Hospital.Kerala's first civil surgeon. The road from Medical College junction to Murinjapalam is to be named in his honour.

He is the first Superintendent of Trivandrum Medical College.
