Qubic experiment
Encyclopedia
Qubic is a ground-based project of observational cosmology
dedicated to measuring the Cosmic microwave background (CMB) polarization anisotropies. Qubic (Q&U Bolometric Interferometer for Cosmology) is an international collaboration between France, Italy, U.K. and U.S.A., that results from the merging of the BRAIN and MBI collaborations. The Qubic instrument is based on bolometric interferometry, a novel technology that is a promising alternative to direct imaging. The collaboration plans to install a first module of the final instrument at the Antarctica Concordia Station
in 2011.
Observational cosmology
Observational cosmology is the study of the structure, the evolution and the origin of the universe through observation, using instruments such as telescopes and cosmic ray detectors.-Early observations:...
