. The population of the town is 140,000 as of 2005. The rural population consists of 80% of the total population. The town mostly consists of brick houses, and small corner shops, with some small industries. The city is situated at a height of 2,768 ft. During winter it is very cold and during summer it is very hot.

Qila Saifullah has a small industry, making mostly consumer goods for domestic export. There is limited farming, mostly of grapes. Many people also herd sheep and lambs in the area.
