palm when sold at retail establishments, though the Solitaire palm is even thinner (often 1–2 inches in diameter rather than 3–4 inches). This species is generally limited to about 30 feet high when planted in unsheltered locations, as the tree is so thin it becomes vulnerable to wind damage.
