, the son of Dod Bib Pasha from the Gjonmarkaj clan which has historically been the leading family in the region of Mirdita. He was among the leaders of the Albanian League of Prizren

After the failure of the League, the Ottoman government exiled Doda for 19 years in Asia Minor in order to avoid his ruling in Mirdita. Mirdita leaders pressured the Sublime Porte for his release, but it was only after the intervention of the Great Powers, that Doda returned from exile in 1904. Doda led rebellions against the Empire and reconciliation of blood feuds. After the Albanian Declaration of Independence
