ProgReS - Project Republic of Sardinia ("ProgReS - Progetu Repùblica de Sardigna") is an independentist social-democratic
political party in Sardinia.
The party was founded in January 2011 following a split from Independence Republic of Sardinia
(iRS). The current party secretary Acampora Salvatore was elected on August 7 2011.
In February the new party took the name of ProgReS - Project Republic of Sardinia and Bobore Bussa was elected as a provisional secretary.
On August 7 2011 the first formal government team led by the secretary candidate Salvatore Acampora was elected.

Party foundation
On January 2 2011, after a power struggle with Gavino Sale, the former president of iRS, the iRS faction led by former secretary Ornella Demuru and 80% of former activists, including iRS founding member Franciscu Sedda, decided to leave the party and launch a "Republican Constituent Assembly" (Sa Costituente Repubricana).In February the new party took the name of ProgReS - Project Republic of Sardinia and Bobore Bussa was elected as a provisional secretary.
On August 7 2011 the first formal government team led by the secretary candidate Salvatore Acampora was elected.
