History

Premios Texas is an annual people's choice award ceremony honoring the best in the Latin music. Based in Austin, Texas, the show first debuted in 2005 to a local audience of 200 spectators. In August 2009, Premios Texas broke records by reaching a nationwide audience on Galavision, the leading Spanish-language cable television network. Throughout Texas, viewer's watched the show on Univision.

 Austin is named the "live music capital of the world." These two elements have made it possible to assemble an event that not only recognizes local and international artists, but also celebrates the diversity of Latin music and its culture in Texas.
