Premier League Player of the Season

The Premier League Player of the Season, referred to as Barclays Player of the Season form 2005 in reference to official primary Premier League sponsor Barclays Bank, is an annual award given by the Barclays Awards Panel for the best player of the season as voted by a selection of football's governing bodies, the media and fans. The award has previously been known as Carling Premiership player of the year (1995–2000) and Barclaycard Premiership player of the year (2001–2004).
