The Prashansaniya Seva Padakkama (kāryakṣama sēvā vibhūṣaṇaya, "Excellent Service Medal") medal awarded to Petty Officers, Leading Seaman and Seaman is a reward for long, meritorious, loyal, valuable, service and unblemished conduct in the Sri Lanka Volunteer Naval Force
, and is governed by the proclamation dated January 31, 2000. The medal shall not confer any individual precedence. It is similar to the Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal of the Royal Navy

who by or after 22 May 1972 have completed 18 years qualifying service as hereinafter defined shall be eligible for the award of decoration.
- The period of service requisite to qualify for the medal shall be of 18 years efficient service.
