Prajnana Kesava

Bhakti Prajnana Kesava Goswami (January 24, 1898 - October 6, 1968) - was a disciple of Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura and the founder of Gaudiya Vaishnava religious organization Gaudiya Vedanta Samiti, formed in Calcutta in 1940. Bhakti Prajnana Kesava was also known as a friend of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada
, after whose death a number of Hare Krishnas left ISKCON and joined Bhakti Prajnana Kesava's organization (led at the time by his disciple Narayana Maharaja).
He was also the sannyasa
guru of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Bhakti Prajnana Kesava initiated ISKCON's founder into the sannyasa order on September 17, 1959 in his Gaudiya Math
in Mathura, and gave him the name Bhaktivedanta Swami.
