But he is considered close to Nitish Kumar and JD-U national president Sharad Yadav and also Bharatiya

While he was one of the few criminal-politicians who were given a JD-U nomination in the 2009 elections, he lost narrowly (less than 3000 votes) to RJD's Uma Shanker Singh.
