and was opened on 15 October 1989.

It is the largest shopping centre in Upper Austria with a sales area of approx. 84.000 square yards. The Plus City accommodates 200 businesses with a total of 2100 employees. Free car parks with 4200 lots are available in close proximity. The average customer frequency is 20.000 per day.

The shopping centre arose from the Plus Kaufland a department store owned by the Pfeiffer group. During several resonstructions the department store became a shopping centre.

Criticism

One point of criticism is that purchasing power is transferred away from the city center of Linz. Another one is the enormous volume of traffic produced by several other businesses along the A-road Kremstal Straße, one of the main routes entering Linz.

A planned extension of the Plus City is not possible currently because of the lack of free area.
