School Information

Pinson Valley High School was established in the 1970's. Its school colors are red and gold and its mascot is the Indian. It is the fifth largest high school in the Jefferson County School System. Current enrollment is over 1,000 students. The current principal is Lurlean Hunter (formerly Brown), with assistants Philip Ackerman, Karen Mardis, Coy McIntosh, and Greg Moore. The school's yearbook is the Chieftain.

Fine Arts and Science Center

In 2008, a new Fine Arts and Science Center was added to the school. The auditorium seats 670 in a state-of-the-art facility. Among many other events, shows presented by PVHS Theatre, the school's Dramatic Arts program.

The Fine Arts Center also houses the Pinson Valley Marching Chiefs, the school's band, and the PVHS Choir program.

Other Facilities

The school also consists of the Willie Adams Stadium, two gymnasiums (including the Mike Dutton Gymnasium), academic classrooms, and a lunchroom.
