Picos

Picos, is a municipality in the state of Piaui. Known as the Model City. Its residents are from various parts of the country. It is located in south-central region of Piaui. It is economically the most developed city in the region. This feature combined with its geographical location give it the condition of effervescent commercial hub in Piauí (especially fuel and honey). One of the largest honey-producing country and is also distinguished by a host unit of the Brazilian Army (3º BEC - Engineering and Construction Battalion).

According to data from INMET - National Institute of Meteorology, the city of Picos Piauí has the highest average annual temperature: 29.4 ° C.

Location

It is located at latitude 07 ° 04'37 "south and longitude 41° 28'01" West, located in south-central region of Piaui.

Demographics

The population of the city of Picos is currently 73,414 inhabitants (IBGE Demographic Census 2010), and 58,307 in urban areas and 15,107 in rural areas, thus characterizing the third largest city from Piaui. It has a population density of 137.23 inhabitants / km ².
