Politics

Municipal Hall in Poblacion is the seat of the government. The Honorable Antonio Amasi Domes-ag is the beloved mayor of the town. He had done great changes in the municipality. Domes-ag is the OIC Mayor of the town in 1989-1992, then elected as mayor in 1992-1995,then in 1995-1998. He was replaced by her wife, the Honorable Lovelyn Domes-ag in 1998-2001 and 2001-2004. The election of 2004 became controversial in the whole nation when both spouse ran for mayoralty candidate. Hon. Antonio Domes-ag was proclaimed as the winner.. In May 2007 election, incumbent Vice-Mayor Geraldine Mamsaang-Balbuena won in a matter of one vote against Hon. Antonio A. Domes-ag. Domes-ag still sat as the municipal mayor until June 2007.
