Peter Brooke Wright is an English
former footballer who played for Colchester United
from 1951 until 1964.
A dashing left-winger, who loved to cut in from the byeline and have a crack at goal, Wright was a £15,000 target of Birmingham City
in October 1957 and a key member of the U's side that held mighty Arsenal
to a 2–2 draw in an epic FA Cup

in March 1952.
In 2000, Wright was named winner of the Evening Gazette's U's Player of the Century poll, and was voted as one of the inaugural stars for the Hall of Fame.
