Early career

Pete Schuermann began making movies at 19, beginning with the feature/parody Hick Trek: The Moovie, which was released to home video in 1999.

In 2005, Walt Disney Studios and Buena Vista Home Entertainment tapped Pete to co-direct and edit Disneyland: Then, Now and Forever, a docu-tainment retrospective piece celebrating Disneyland’s 50th anniversary.

HAZE was an Official Selection at Hamptons Film Festival and Newport International Film Festival in 2008, and at Newport Beach Film Festival, AFI Dallas International Film Festival and Bend Film Festival in 2009.

The documentary also won the Director's Choice Award for Film/Editing at the Indie Spirit Film Festival in 2009.

Today, the film is used as a part of high school and college campus education programs on the dangers of binge drinking.

Future productions

Schuermann announced in December 2009 that his new feature-length documentary project about the sci-fi b-movie The Creeping Terror
